  • http://quizlet.com/ is a free web 2.0 tool to create flashcards, practice with them, and share with others.
  • http://www.glogster.com/edu is a free web 2.0 tool that allows you to create interactive posters with text, images, audio, and video.
  • http://prezi.com/ online Presentation tool (much like PowerPoint) where all work is done on the web from any internet accessible computer.
  • http://wordle.net
  • Photostory (installed on all computers) Digital storytelling using images from on-line, from digital cameras, etc. Create or have students create a digital story using images, a microphone, and/or music clips to introduce a new topic, take a virtual field trip, as an evaluation of topics/ideas learned.
  • Audacity (installed on all computer). Use to record voice threads of instructions to follow, incorporate with Photostory
  • Flip Video (available to sign out from Tech Dept) Record classroom skits, science experiments, have students explore their surroundings and record video. Download to student computers to have students watch/observe their results or sign out projector/laptop cart to show on the “Big Screen”.
  • DiscoveryEd Videos (http://streaming.discoveryeducation.com/ ) Locate and provide educational videos to students either in small groups during Learning Centers or using a laptop/projector card that can be signed out.
  • Blogs (http://classblogmeister.com or http://wordpress.com ) Have students create blog entries, independent writings, or responses to essential questions.
  • Webspiration (http://mywebspiration.com/ ) Free web-based Beta version of the popular Inspiration Idea mapping/ Concept Mapping software.
  • http://www.google.com/docs Google Docs for sharing documents, creating forms, sharing spreadsheets
  • http://keepvid.com/ Download and keep Youtube and other online videos.

  • http://edu.xtranormal.com/makemovies/ is a free web 2.0 tool that allows you to create movies with one or two actors, and in many languages. You can change many things such as the set, soundtrack, and actors. You can also change camera angles, add animations, change expressions and looks, make actors point at things, add pauses and sounds, etc. And, you can also add your own voice!
  • http://www.voki.com/create.php is a free web 2.0 tool that allows you to create a talking character or "avatar". You can customize your avatar to look like you or take on the identity of other characters. Your avatar can even speak with your own voice which is added via microphone, upload, or phone.
